My pals at wine and dinner club liked drinking it with a splash of water in it to cut the sugar. If you like infusing liquors, next summer try my "galliano-ish" I posted in August. It uses a lot of garden flowers and herbs. Thanks for coming by and commenting, too! Best, UDD

I made a batch and steeped it for about a month before straining it. But I thought that the specified amount of syrup seemed like way too much, so I only added 1 1/2 cups syrup plus 1/2 cup water, and it turned out great – it was still quite sweet, but not cloyingly so, and it still had quite a punch. Also, I couldn't find green aniseed right away in my local market so I substituted fennel seeds and it came out well.
