Well, if you like Italy and a juicy historical fiction novel, you will like this book. This is based on the history of the power-hungry Duke of Milan who marries one sister but has an affair with another. Meanwhile, Leonardo Da Vinci is brought to life through notebook experts as well as his own character throughout the main plot. He was commissioned for many years by the Duke to do a variety of masterpieces. He is woven in artfully and anecdotally. This book is very descriptive in it’s attempt to bring renaissance Italy to life. The story in itself is a very fun read. It includes a lot of sex and political intrigue, all with the beautiful backdrop of Northern Italy. I recommend you read it with a very nice bottle of Tuscan red. Yum!
