My love of cooking and gardening merged into a mission to help save our world’s pollinators. Without our pollinators, gardening and food will disappear, and the human race along with it. 40% of all the world’s invertebrate pollinators–including bees, butterflies, and other pollinating insects–are at risk of extinction. Yet we can all make a positive impact on this global problem with some small steps. My goal is to teach and inspire EVERYONE to change our approach to gardening and taking care of our outdoor spaces-no matter the size. Gardening with native flowers and plants is a quick way to make a visible, positive influence in your local neighborhood. At the same time, it can improve pollinator populations, your own quality of life and your property value. Many people find gardening, and all the tasks and knowledge associated with it, intimidating. Books are not intuitive and too complex. Many people think they need special skills to grow things. Native plants carry misconceptions and stigmas, not helping their own cause. My mission is to help break down barriers, bring some truth and make things very simple and easy to understand, thus empowering people (urban dweller to country dweller) to feel the joy, satisfaction and pride in growing something beautiful while helping the planet-especially pollinators.

With my deep art direction and design skills, perfected over a 25-year career in advertising, I have created a line of #savethebees products, of which a percentage of profits will be donated to The Honeybee Conservancy. I picked this organization because they have a multilayered approach to help save the bees, from educational school programs to rebuilding habitats. Shop these items in the shop, as well as on Etsy.
